Lilingshen: embarrassment and confusion behind the "excitement" of the textile industry
after joining the China Industrial Textiles Industry Association, I realized that I "bumped" into a very important industry. During the "Eleventh Five Year Plan" period, China's industrial textiles industry has developed rapidly. By 2010, the total fiber processing volume had reached 8.22 million tons, with an average annual growth of 16%, accounting for 20% of the domestic textile fiber processing volume, an increase of 6.4 percentage points over 2005; The export volume of industrial textiles in 2010 also increased by 1.5 times compared with 2005. At present, industrial textiles have become a new growth pole for the transformation of China's textile industry from a big country to a powerful country. They are an important part of the strategic emerging industry that spans textiles and new materials. They are an industry that provides indispensable new materials for aerospace, new energy, environmental protection, health care and other fields. It is so many "halos" that industrial textiles have become the most important industry under the focus of the industry. However, in addition to "excited", there is still a little confusion about its development, and I feel the arduous task shouldered by the association
from the perspective of global textile development trends, while traditional textiles are transferred to developing countries, developed countries take the development of industrial textiles as an important 5.0 way to optimize the textile industrial structure and maintain and enhance industrial competitiveness. Its development level has become an important symbol to measure the core competitiveness and scientific and technological level of national textile industry. Industrial textiles, also known as technical textiles in the world, are characterized by "three high and one wide": high technical content, high product added value, high labor productivity and wide industrial penetration
although China's industrial textiles industry started late, it has benefited from the broad market space and the development of fiber materials and related industries in recent years, and has integrated interdisciplinary and interdisciplinary technologies such as medicine, energy and environmental protection, and has developed a wide range of new products with wide applications. Especially when the traditional textile and clothing production is facing the constraints of resources, environment, labor and other factors, and facing the fierce competition of other developing countries with lower costs, exploring new application fields and developing industrial textiles have become one of the important ways for the structural adjustment, transformation and upgrading of China's textile industry, and also one of the important measures for China's textile industry to realize the transformation from comparative advantage to competitive advantage, Industrial textiles will play an important role in driving the upstream and downstream related industries and promoting the development of the national economy
however, compared with developed countries, China's industrial textiles industry still has a large gap in industrial concentration, product grade, innovation ability, development of special raw materials, preparation technology and so on. To a large extent, the development and production of many high-performance and high-quality products also depend on Vesta's extensive silicon production capacity in developed countries and its deep expertise in the field of precision thermoplastic extrusion, which can constitute a complementary technology transfer to Lubrizol's business. The independent innovation and development capacity of the industry can not fully meet the needs of economic development and the improvement of people's living standards, and it is more difficult to cope with international competition
as the world's textile powers continue to accelerate the development of industrial textiles, China's industrial textiles have also attracted more and more attention. Both government departments, enterprises and scientific research institutes have high hopes for the future of industrial textiles from the government level. For the first time, government departments have led the formulation of the "12th Five Year Plan" for the development of industrial textiles industry, and supported the corresponding industrial development incentive policies. It should be said that the industrial textile industry has ushered in unprecedented opportunities. As the China Industrial Textiles Industry Association, which is responsible for guidance and industry services, it plays a role of uploading, releasing, communicating and standardizing on multiple levels. At the same time, we also feel the difficulties and confusion of its development in our practical work
first, it is difficult to lack the brand. As the intermediate material of terminal products, industrial textiles must meet the structural characteristics, performance requirements and cost constraints of the final products. Enterprise management is often subject to the market behavior of supporting products. In particular, affected by practical problems such as industrial barriers, technical barriers and market access barriers, many products are difficult to form independent brands, difficult to open domestic and foreign markets, and can only be OEM for terminal brands. As a result, most enterprises are still at the low end of the value chain, which is contrary to the high value-added characteristics of technical textiles. Take nonwovens for medical and health use for example. Diapers have "pampers", sanitary napkins have "hushubao", wet napkins have "Johnson & Johnson", and Chuangke stickers have "Bondi". These are popular well-known brands, but who of our manufacturers who provide high-quality nonwovens for them is known by the society, and even the enterprise itself has not considered brand creation
second, they are trapped in "channel hegemony". Without a brand, without influence, and not the final product, there will be no channel voice, and even no access to the market. Because industrial textiles are at the middle end of the industrial chain, they are strongly controlled by downstream application fields, which makes it difficult for our high-end medical textiles to enter the domestic market for many reasons, even if they are internationally recognized. In addition, automotive textiles, as spare parts, account for only about 4% of the total vehicle value. However, due to the various technical requirements and standards of the OEMs, our enterprises can only be tired of customizing services for God
the third is confused by the lack of standards. With the rapid development of China's industrial textiles industry, the construction of relevant standards is relatively lagging behind, and the lack of standards can not be solved by the industry itself. Downstream industries and supporting enterprises often veto or ignore the formulation and application of industrial textiles industry standards with industry barriers and user standards. In addition, due to the wide application fields of industrial textiles, similar products have different technical requirements in different fields, and the lack of uniformity of standard design in China, the product development of enterprises is difficult to form a system. It is not easy to learn from international advanced experience and improve the systematization and applicability of standards
because of the constraints in the development of these industries, although I have only been in the industry for more than a year, I have realized the embarrassment behind the "being important" of the industrial textile industry. Industrial textiles are not only an important component and branch of China's textile industry, but also a strategic commanding point for vigorously developing emerging industries such as new materials. This point is not enough to be valued only by the traditional textile industry, but also by downstream industries, other fields and other departments. At present, the society does not have a high awareness of it. Cui Lixin summarizes it as two points: the reasons for the industry opportunities and the help of noble people, the macro level consideration of the structural adjustment and upgrading of the textile industry, and the factors of insufficient promotion and understanding at the national strategic level. Different from clothing, home textile and other industries, industrial textiles are an out and out "2.5 industry" between manufacturing and service industries. Therefore, advocating the combination of "government, industry, learning, research and application", emphasizing the collaborative development of industrial textile enterprises and downstream, and actively establishing industrial innovation alliances and cross sectoral coordination mechanisms are the top priorities of industrial development. Only by stimulating consumption based on market demand can we give better play to the advantages and role of the industry. In this regard, we look forward to it. Although this industry is widely valued, it still needs a hard process
during the 12th Five Year Plan period, China Industrial Textiles Industry Association decided to take service innovation as the main line, and strive to realize the mode transformation, chain extension, value embodiment and capacity improvement of services, so as to comprehensively promote the development of industries and enterprises. While constantly improving the functions of associations in the industry, we should also seek breakthroughs for the industry to change its embarrassing position and achieve substantive development. The focus of many measures is to hope that the competent departments of relevant industries will pay enough attention to and effectively promote the development of industrial textiles, give good industrial supporting policy support, and provide social soil for the industry to thrive
