Prospects for the future development of China's textile industry in 2012

from February 12 to 17, under the unified organization and leadership of the China Textile Industry Federation, the China Home Textile Association conducted a field survey of 10 home textile industry clusters across the country, covering bedding, fabric and towels. The survey held 10 cluster symposiums, which were attended by local governments, local associations and a number of enterprises. A total of more than 20 enterprises were visited, and 70 questionnaires were collected, including 9 cluster questionnaires, 28 Zhejiang group questionnaires and 33 Jiangsu Group questionnaires

(I) operation in 2011

among the 10 clusters surveyed, 8 clusters with home textile industry as the leading industry achieved a total industrial output value of 137.461 billion yuan in 2011, an increase of 9.82% year-on-year; The production and marketing rate reached 97.73%, and the production and marketing were well connected. The industrial delivery value reached 41.149 billion yuan, an increase of 15.41% year-on-year; Exports accounted for 30.63%. The profit was 7.799 billion yuan, an increase of 22.48% year-on-year; The profit margin is 5.94%

the total industrial output value, export delivery value and total profit of enterprises below Designated Size account for 44.71%, 31.61% and 39.49% of the whole industry respectively. The year-on-year growth rate of total industrial output value was less than the industry average, and the growth rate of export delivery value was significantly higher than the industry average, reaching 52.83%

(II) overall trend in 2012

1 Good start at the beginning of the year

the industry started basically smoothly in 2012, and enterprises generally reported that the start of work at the beginning of the year was better than last year. Among the 33 enterprises surveyed by the Jiangsu group, 68.75% of the enterprises have an operating rate of more than 80%, and only 9.38% of the enterprises have an operating rate of less than 50%. The operating rate of Enterprises above Designated Size in Gaomi City surveyed by the Shandong Group was 91%, and the operation of small enterprises was also relatively stable

the return of employees was also significantly better than that of the previous year. The return rate of most enterprise employees surveyed by the Zhejiang group is more than 80%. The average employee turnover rate of the 12 enterprises surveyed was 87.63%. In the Jiangsu group, 57.58% of the enterprises have a post holiday return rate of more than 90%, 27.27% of the enterprises have a return rate of 70% - 80%, and only 9.09% of the enterprises have a slightly worse start-up after the holiday, with a return rate of less than 50%, mainly small enterprises. The return rate of enterprise workers surveyed by Shandong Group is more than 90%. Before the Spring Festival, many enterprises gave bonuses to employees, and some enterprises promised to raise wages after the festival, ensuring a high rate of workers returning to the factory

it is also understood that in Dieshiqiao and Gaoyang clusters, which are mainly domestic enterprises, the order volume of the vast majority of enterprises from 2009 to 2013 increased by varying degrees compared with the same period last year

2. The production is expected to increase steadily, and the enterprises surveyed by the Zhejiang group are generally optimistic about production, accounting for 75% who believe that the production prospect is good or very good. Enterprises are generally cautious about the market. 89.29% of enterprises believe that the overall situation of the domestic and foreign markets will be average or better, but 7.14% of enterprises even expect the market to deteriorate further. Among them, 62.96% of enterprises are not optimistic about the future export market. 82.14% of enterprises believe that the future investment environment is general or poor. Enterprises are not optimistic about the improvement of operating efficiency. 53.57% of enterprises believe that the efficiency will be average, and 25% of enterprises believe that it will become worse

3. The effective demand in the international market is insufficient, and the international competitiveness of all cotton products has declined.

China has entered a period of high costs. Cotton prices are inversely linked to the international market, the international competitiveness of export products has declined, and foreign orders have gradually shifted to neighboring countries such as India. According to the data of the U.S. Department of Commerce, in the past two years, the export of cotton bed products and towels from China and India accounted for more than 60% of the total import of similar products in the United States. In 2011, the United States imported $4.102 billion of cotton bedding products and towels from the world, a decrease of $147 million compared with 2010, of which the amount imported from China decreased by $202million, accounting for 32.07% in 2011 from 35.71% in 2010, a decrease of 3.64 percentage points; The import amount from India increased by US $127million, accounting for 30.31% from 26.26%, an increase of 4.04 percentage points

4. Talent training and channel expansion have become the primary task of many enterprises. According to the survey of Jiangsu group, in 2012, 54.84% of enterprises said they would introduce and cultivate talents, or (and) include the provision of high-level employee benefits to support the development of strategic emerging industries in the plan; 51.61% of enterprises will expand domestic market channels or (and) improve management level; 38.71% of enterprises will invest in e-commerce; 29.03% of the enterprises will carry out brand culture construction and marketing publicity, or (and) expand the plant; 25.81% of enterprises will purchase and replace advanced and energy-saving equipment, or (and) reengineer the production process, or (and) carry out information transformation; 19.35% of enterprises will explore the international market. Among the 12 medium-sized enterprises, 66.67% will introduce and cultivate talents, and 58.33% will expand domestic market channels; Among the 17 small enterprises, 58.82% will improve the management level or (and) improve the treatment of employees
